The 3D Rage II is the second generation Rage and offered roughly two times greater 3D performance. It is based on a re-engineered Mach64 and can be paired up with single-cycle EDO or high-speed SGRAM. The new PCI-bus boosted 2D performance by 20% and added support for MPEG-2 playback. Rage II is a DirectX 5.0 compliant chip.
